About Us

Emmeco is a specialised psychiatry practice in Brisbane located at the Wesley Specialist Centre. We strive to help every patient with their mental well-being and are passionate about providing quality care for patients that focuses on helping them to live well.

If you are a patient needing to see a psychiatrist, you will need to obtain a letter of referral from your GP or specialist prior to making an appointment.

We support people 18 years and older in the following areas:

Dr Oreste

Dr Oreste Theodoratos MBBS (Qld) FRANZCP Cert. Consul. Liaison Psych. is a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and has undertaken additional training in general hospital (consultation liaison) and neurodevelopmental psychiatry.

Dr Theodoratos consults from the Wesley Specialist Centre, located opposite the The Wesley Hospital and also provides inpatient assessment and management advice for patients admitted to The Wesley Hospital.

This practice provides in-hospital consultations at the Wesley Hospital and our COVID-19 policy for face-to-face consultations closely aligns with the policy of the hospital.

To be able to attend face to face consults:

  • Proof of at least two doses of a recognised COVID vaccine
  • Masks are mandatory when attending the practice rooms
  • You must be feeling well and have no symptoms that are flu-like/upper respiratory e.g cough
  • Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your consultation as this is to minimise the number of persons in the waiting room
  • If required, maximum of one accompanying person (above requirements apply)

For all unvaccinated patients, treatment can continue with your doctor via Telehealth services

IMPORTANT: Please phone the clinic on 07 3193 3381 if you have an upcoming appointment and have been exposed to Covid-19 OR have flu-like symptoms as you will not be able to enter the clinic. In most instances, a Telehealth (phone or video) consultation can be arranged.

Telehealth info:

Video consultations are via an Australian secure system called COVIU and no specialised software is required. To change your existing appointment to a telehealth consultation:

  1. Please contact our admin team on ph. 07 3193 3381 or email admin@emmeco.com.au
  2. Admin staff can assist you with a trial run of COVIU to ensure you are familiar with it prior to your appointment
  3. Your doctor will contact you at the time of your scheduled appointment
